    Biography

    I am a Senior Lecturer in Primary and Childhood Education with a specialist focus on innovative pedagogy and teaching practices. I hold a degree in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a wealth of experience working in Primary Education, Early Years, and Further Education.

    Over the course of my career, I have taken on a lead role in various initiatives, such as introducing A Model for Great Teaching across departments in Further Education and acting as the Teaching Learning and Assessment Lead Practitioner.

    In my current role, I deliver a range of modules within the Primary and Childhood Education Faculty. My work is underpinned by a strong commitment to fostering creative and effective approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment. My primary academic interests include early reading development, the role of play in early years education, and the impact of outdoor learning on holistic child development.

    Alongside my teaching responsibilities, I am actively engaged in doctoral research as part of an EdD programme. My research focuses on exploring innovative strategies to enhance educational practices and improve outcomes for learners. Additionally, I hold the National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching (NPQLT), which reflects my dedication to educational leadership and ongoing professional development.

    I am deeply committed to creating enriching and transformative learning experiences. My work is driven by a belief in the potential of innovative teaching approaches to empower children, enabling them to excel both academically and personally.
