    Biography

    Laura’s employment background is as a Children’s Services practitioner and Early Years Teacher specialising with children aged 0-8 years. She has worked across a range of settings including Children’s Centers, Private Day Nurseries and School Nurseries. In addition, Laura is an assistant martial arts instructor supporting both children and adults. Laura has worked as a Higher Education Lecturer for the past 11 years lecturing in colleges and universities.

    Laura’s PhD study has a Public Health focus exploring Children’s experiences of attending Taekwon-Do classes in the North of England. I am particularly interested in the following areas:

    -Martial Arts
    -Participatory studies
    -Ethnography-culture
    -Taekwon-Do
