Keisha-Ann Stewart is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Edge Hill University and a third-year PhD researcher. Her doctoral research explores the experiences of Black Caribbean male students with the literature texts studied at Key Stage 4, examining how these experiences influence their engagement, interpretation and academic response within English classrooms in England.
With a multidisciplinary background in linguistics, literature, publishing studies and education, Keisha-Ann’s academic interests include literacy development, teacher education, anti-racist education, decolonising the curriculum, the ethical use of artificial intelligence in education and the integration of technology to enhance learning and pedagogy. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching.
Keisha-Ann brings extensive UK and international experience in education, with expertise in curriculum development, teacher coaching, literacy leadership, and academic research. She has also held key roles in advisory work, mentoring, and student outreach, supporting learners both inside and outside the classroom. As a strategic and socially driven education leader, she combines grassroots impact with academic thought leadership and is especially passionate about fostering inclusive education through diverse literary representation, critical engagement with curriculum content and systemic transformation rooted in justice-oriented pedagogies.
