    Personal profile

    Biography

I am an early careers researcher with a keen interest around mental health, neurodiversity, as well as risk and resilience. Much of my work focuses on different populations including children and adolscents, individuals at risk of Developmental Language Disorder, healthcare professionals (NHS). Up to date, my current work focuses on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on individuals' mental health, well-being and resilience to pandemic-related adversity. More recently, I aim to refocus my work back to understanding mental health in those diagnosed with a neurodevelopmental condition. Due to my wealth of industry experience (10+) in various roles (dance teacher, activities coordinator in carehomes and hospitals, befriender for the National Autisitic Society) my drive is growing towards impact-focused research activities.

Regarding methodology, I am a mixed-methods researcher as I beleive that to truely understand something as complex as mental health (and resilience) there is a need to draw upon quantiative and qualitative techniques. Therefore, I have experience with complex data management (ie. large and longitudinal surveys); advanced statistics (regressions, moderation analysis, Growth Curve Modelling for example); as well as qualitative data collection (focus groups and interviews) and analysis.
