    Biography

    Kathryn is a memebr of the executive team in the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Medicine. From a nursing background, Kathryn has commitment to lifelong learning, continued professional development and work-based/practice learning. She worked in practice as a specialist public health nurse specialising in children and young people's public health and sexual health. Kathryn worked on the National Teenage Pregnancy Strategy and Sexual Health and HIV strategy, including the role of lead assessor for a national CPD programme for all professionals working directly with young people. This work brought her into daily contact with education colleagues and via work on the Health Schools Programme Kathryn decided to undertake a PGCE to enable her enhance her skills in learning and teaching. This led to a move to full time roles within higher educaiton leading programmes of study for the health and social care workforce pipeline. Having completed a Doctorate in Education Kathryn secured the post of Associate Dean, Student Experience & Quality Enhancement at Edge Hill University in 2021. Kathryn works to ensure all programmes delivered by the faculty meet the requirements of the Office for Students and deliver a positive student experience. She has particular responsibility for the Apprenticeship Stretagy, End Point Assessment Organisation and acts as OfSTED Nominee. Kathryn has held several external examiner and consultancy roles. As part of the executive team Kathryn works within a secure financial framework.
