Biography

I am a lecturer and PhD researcher studying cognitive strengths and challenges in people with developmental coordination disorder (DCD) and co-occurring neurodevelopmental differences i.e. prosopagnosia, aphantasia, ASD, ADHD and dyslexia. My research informs my teaching and knowledge share/advocacy activities to support people with neurodivergent conditions.

Research interests

My main research interests are exploring cognitive strengths and challenges in people with developmental coordination disorder (DCD/dyspraxia) and co-occurring conditions such as prosopagnosia, aphantasia, autism, ADHD and dyslexia.

External engagement

I enjoy engaging in research based knowledge exchange activities and take part in advocacy events. I have been invited to speak at the American College of Neuropsychopharmaclogy Annual Meeting in Arizona, 2024 to discuss strengths in neurodiversity.

I have also presented my research for the dyspraxic community online during dyspraxia awarenss week 2024 and previously as a guest speaker at The Dyspraxia Foundation conference.

In 2023 I won a travel award to present my research at the European Conference of Visual Perception in Cyprus and shared my work at the European Convention of Psychology in Brighton.

I am keen to share knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions to increase awareness, and to share vital information about cognitive strengths associated with neurodiversity.
