    I am passionate about 'all things' ECEC, particularly literacy and early reading and working with under-threes. I am a strong advocate for babies and under-threes. 

    I have been working in the ECEC field for 40 years as a practitioner/teacher/researcher. 

    As Chair of TACTYC, I am able to continue to advocate for the field of ECEC. 

    Research interests

    My research interests are literacy, early reading, policy and pedagogy and under-threes. 


    I currently teach across all programmes in the Department for Early Years Education - UG, PGCE and MA. 

    External engagement

    I am Chair of TACTYC and a member of BERA and EECERA.

    I have presented at many international conferences on the subject of 'early reading with under-threes'.
