Dr Kamila Tomczak's research interests lie the fields of International Economics, Macroeconomics, and Financial Economics, with a specific focus on the development of financial crises and the channels of crisis transmission. Two major publications by Dr Kamila Tomczak have significantly contributed to the field. An article published in 2022, titled 'Transmission of the 2007-2008 Financial Crisis in Advanced Countries of the EU' appeared in the Bulletin of Economic Research. Another publication, 'The Impact of the 2007-2008 Financial Crisis on the Banking Systems in Advanced European Countries' was featured in Applied Economics Quarterly. The findings presented in the 2022 article have added valuable insights to the literature on crisis transmission, particularly the spread of crises to advanced economies.
Dr Kamila Tomczak's most recent publication in the field is an article titled 'The Impact of COVID-19 on the Banking Sector: Are We Heading for the Next Banking Crisis?' published in the Qualitative Research in Financial Markets journal. This article critically examines the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on the banking sector.
In addition to her financial economics research, Dr Kamila Tomczak has also interest in sustainable development. She presented her latest research on 'Green Bond Market: Drivers of Profitability and Liquidity' at the Conference on International Finance; Sustainable and Climate Finance and Growth in 2022, held in Naples, Italy.
