    Biography

    John is a Senior Lecturer in Nurse Education at Edge Hill University. His main areas of interest are acute and critical care, anatomy and physiology and the physical and psychological effects of the critical care environment. John’s clinical experience has included a range of senior positions mainly in acute and intensive care settings. John started his academic career in 2005 at UCLan and has experience of teaching across undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD programmes. 

    Research interests

    John's research is currently looking at the experiences of male students who are currently enrolled on an undergraduate nursing degree. John’s research has also focussed on patients, their families and clinicians’ experiences in intensive care. John’s research has established his position that the therapeutic relationship is pivotal to assisting the person who has experienced delirium in the critical care setting on their journey to rehabilitation and recovery. He continues to maintain an honorary contract at a local NHS Trust.
