Biography
Joanne Skellern is a Registered Nurse for people with a Learning Disability (RNLD). After qualifying in 1996, she worked in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, forensic, residential and respite services. Since 2008, she has worked within Higher Education assisting to deliver pre-registration nurse education programmes. She joined Edge Hill University in August 2023 as a Senior Lecturer - Nurse Education.
Her research has predominantly focused on the subject of violence and aggression in the context of learning disability services.
