Biography
James’s academic research interests are concerned with the materiality of film. Exploring the possibility of film emulsion situating it on the interchange between film, geology, ecology and science particularly in terms of its history. How can film emulsion and as a result film as a medium be seen in a wider context beyond the photochemical? Currently undertaking a PhD by practice at the University of Westminster, London as part of CREAM.
