    Personal profile

    Biography

My current post as Faculty Learning and Teaching Development Lead involves working across the Faculty to introduce new initiatives to enhance learning and teaching. Previous to this I was an Institutional Senior Fellowship Lead for Learning and Teaching whilst I led PGCE Business programmes.

In addition, I work across the University on key priorities, disseminating outwards the good and excellent practice that exists within the Faculty as well as bringing good practice and policy into the Faculty.  Facilitating this role has been my involvement with Advance HE as Senior Fellow of the HEA together with being an Institutional Learning and Teaching Fellow.

A key aspect of my current role is in developing policy which has seen me lead a University wide project around Commuter Students, and developing and implementing Employability Strategy.  Both of these reflect my areas of research interest.  A particular focus is that of employability and the interplay between social justice/ social mobility within a neo-liberal agenda where success is measured by government definitions of highly-skilled and well-paid employment.

Whilst a PGCE  Business programme leader I undertook research into the development of pedagogy that supports the delivery of the Business curriculum such as problem based learning, BTEC delivery, and the place of Business Links to deliver an outstanding learning experience for business students within 11-19 educational contexts.

And previous to all of this, I was a Senior Investment Manager (i.e stockbroker) with Wise Speke & Co, which became part of Brewin Dolphin plc.
