Biography
Helen Scott joined Edge Hill University in October 2022 and is a senior lecturer within the Faculty of Nursing. Helen currently teaches BSc (Hons) Nursing within NUR1000 team and, as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, ensures that curriculum content reflects this field.
Helen registered as Mental Health Nurse in 2002 after studying at Liverpool John Moores University and has 20 years experience in a range of clinical areas including Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Eating Disorders, Primary Care MH Assessment, Early Intervention in Psychosis and step 4 psychological therapies services. She also has experience working closely with perinatal mental health services and within primary care settings carrying out physical health assessments of individuals with a diagnosis of Severe and Enduring Mental Illness.
Helen is currently completing the Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and is the deputy Year of Study Lead for the January intake of first year nursing students. Helen also leads for Simulated Practice Learning within this year. Helen is a Schwartz round facilitator for the University and is supporting the roll out of rounds across Edge Hill University.
