    Personal profile

    Biography

I have worked at Edge Hill University for over 20 years teaching on a range of clinical and education CPD modules and programmes. I originally trained as a Registered Nurse and worked in adult critical care for 10 years where I developed a strong interest in clinical education. I have an MA in Professional Education and I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have held the role of University Learning and Teaching Fellow on two occasions with a fellowship focus on enhancing the learning experience for postgraduate taught students on a range of medical/clinical education programmes.

My professional expertise is in educator development, and I lead modules on learning, teaching and assessment in the medical workplace and in mentoring and coaching. I work closely with partner organisations such as the Royal College of Physicians and NHS England in the delivery of the modules.

My research interests include reflective practice and e-portfolios and I supervise students undertaking Masters-level dissertation research in the field of clinical education.
