Dr. Ellean Hiley is a registered nurse having completed her nurse training at Sefton School of Nursing. During her clinical career she held various clinical posts in the NHS while at the same time completed a BSC (Hons) degree in Physiology/Pharmacology with Nursing Studies at the University of Central Lancashire. She took up a part time secondment to Edge Hill University as a lecturer alongside a clinical post of Sister on Intensive Coronary care for 18 months from 98-01 and then commenced full time from 01 as a lecturer. She completed her postgraduate teaching diploma and master’s in health education at the University of Huddersfield in 2005. Ellean became a fellow of higher Education academy in 2013. Ellean Undertook a part time Doctor of Education (DEd) at the University of Huddersfield ‘The theoretical component of a professional nursing programme is pivotal to nurse registration: A student’s perspective’. completing in 2017.
