    Biography

    Chris joined Edge Hill University in 2018 and is responsible for the international portfolio of Edge Hill Business School, including partnerships, student exchanges, and transnational programmes.

    Previously, he held academic posts at the University of Lincoln and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). Chris completed his PhD at UCLan in 2014, which considered the entrepreneurial competencies of rural business owners.

    Chris's research continues to consider the contribution of entrepreneurs and small business owners to local economic development. In particular, the role of competencies and skills development within regional entrepreneurial ecosystems. Chris is particularly interested in the potential for entrepreneurship to contribute to poverty reduction and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

    Prior to commencing an academic career, Chris worked in project management and logistics roles for JCB, Nippon Yusen Group, and the Royal Air Force.
