Personal profile
Biography
I joined Edge Hill University as a lecturer in November 2024. Prior to working at Edge Hill University, I worked as lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Central Lancashire between 2020 and 2024.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Sport Coaching in 2011 and discovered a love for Sport Psychology. Following this, I completed an MSc. in Applied Sport Psychology. I completed my PhD in Sport Psychology in 2020 at Cardiff Metropolitan University on the topic of life skills development through sport. Specifically, I focused on the development, implementation and evaluation of a life-skill program within golf.
I am a fully qualified Sport and Exercise Psychologist, registered with the HCPC and work in the applied context alongside education.
Research interests
My PhD research focused on exploring how young people can develop life skills, such as communication skills, goal setting skills, reflective skills within a sport context and transfer them for use within contexts outside of sport.
I have a secondary research interest whereby I am exploring the development, implementation and evaluation of a sport-based parent education program. Specifically, I have developed a parent education program that aims to support parents to support themselves and their children within a sport context.
