Biography
My nursing profile is Adult Nursing (registered 1996) with also Nurse Tutor registration.
My career spans predominantly across critical care nursing (Cardiology) but equally general nursing too with elderly care and long term conditions are keen focus.
I have also worked in education as a practice education facilitator supporting and enhancing the student experience of all learners leading myself onto my current career trajectory.
My reading interests lie within professional practice, emotional intelligence and leadership.
External engagement
I am a recent Florence Nightingale Foundation Fellow which is new for 2023 and I am honoured to be within the first Cohort of Fellows within this foundation. Key areas for further exploration are new age leadership, sustainability, Digital IT, Globalisation and supporting students.
I have also recently established a working partnership with Powys in Wales who I am working with to support our Nurse Paramedic students into placement areas there. This is a newly integrated role that Powys are keen to support.
Research interests
My reading interests lie within professional practice, emotional intelligence and leadership. I support my learning by listening to Podcasts, and engaging with SOLSTICE and seminars within my workplace.
My role in supporting our new integrated role (Nurse Paramedic) is supporting the development of new literature to explore further and be written - watch this space!
Teaching
I love to teach and delight in teaching 10 -500 students across the years. I have an estbalished teaching track record since 2010 in HEI and particularly like a pedagogical approach with a blended learning support too.
My teaching style is participative and encourage even the back row of students to engage in their learning!
I have a keen interest in professional development, management, clinical skills and nursing across the lifespan. I teach from Level 3 to 7
