Personal profile
Biography
I hold current NMC registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – Health Visiting and NMC registered teacher status
My employment background is in General Nursing, Midwifery, Health Visiting and Higher Education, with a number of years professional experience in each of these areas.
I have worked as a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University since 2002, on the Nurse Education and Applied Health and Social Care Teams and retained close links with practice. Acting as a Liaison Tutor with a number of FE Colleges during that time, helped me develop an interest in maintenance of quality standards. I have taught, marked and moderated students work at both undergraduate and post graduate degree level.
Since becoming Associate Head of Department, I lead in all matters pertaining to quality standards. I have successfully led a number of validations of new programmes and am passionate about curriculum development and the voice of the student in that process.
