Biography
Beth is a Senior Lecturer in Primary and Childhood Education specialising in Physical Education.
Prior to joining Edge Hill University, Beth taught in primary schools in the United Kingdom and at an international school in Dubai, UAE. She has held a variety of positions from KS2 class teacher, Physical Education Subject Lead and Languages Subject Lead. Beth has a passion for Physical Education and has been responsible for creating PE curriculums and enhancing the profile of PE in primary schools through inclusive competitive opportunities and evidencing through the School Games Mark Awards.
Teaching
At Edge Hill University, Beth teaches on a range of modules on the QTS Initial Teacher Education programmes. This includes teaching BA(Hons) and PGCE students. She predominantly teaches the Physical Education and Primary Languages elements of the course. Beth is the Strand Lead for 'How Children Learn' where she plans and delivers the content for this across all the ITE programmes. Additionally, Beth is a Personal Academic Tutor for a group of first year undergraduate teacher trainees.
