    Biography

Andy is a Reader in Psychology at Edge Hill University's Department of Psychology, a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. His research focuses on how behaviour change theory can be translated into practical approaches that help people living with and beyond illness, with a particular emphasis on head and neck cancer.

Central to Andy's work is collaboration with healthcare professionals, charity groups and community organisations to co-develop evidence-based interventions that support sustainable lifestyle behaviour change. He works in multidisciplinary teams to ensure that behaviour change strategies are not only grounded in theory but also shaped by the experiences and needs of those who deliver and receive care.

Through these partnerships, Andy aims to create scalable, real-world solutions that empower individuals and communities to make meaningful and lasting improvements to their lifestyle behaviours.
