Dr Andrea Cattaneo is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Law and Criminology at Edge Hill University. He is a graduate from the University of Milan. After graduation, Dr Cattaneo was an intern at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut, The Hague, in the Department of International and European Sports Law. In September 2013, he became a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Law and Criminology at Edge Hill University, where he also undertook a PhD on the application of Competition Law to Sports under the supervision of Professor Richard Parrish. He successfully defended his PhD in 2017 and has joined Edge Hill University in 2018 as a Lecturer in Law. Before joining Edge Hill, Andrea has gained teaching experience with a number of institutions across the UK. Dr Cattaneo is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, having completed his PGCert in 2016.
Dr Cattaneo has published extensively in the area of European Union Law and Sport, and is a Reviewer for a number of Academic Journals, including the International Sports Law Journal, the European Sport Management Quarterly, the International Journal of Sport Management and Marketing and the Liverpool Law Review.
Dr Cattaneo is a member of the Centre for Sports Law Research, and a Honorary Member of the Centre for Sports Law, Sports Policy and Sports Diplomacy of the University of Rijeka (Croatia). Dr Cattaneo sits on the Board of Sport & EU Association, the Association for the Study of the European Union and Sport.
My main Research Interest lies in the intersection between the European Union and sport.
