WHO European Observatory: Assessing health system performance: Proof of concept for a HSPA dashboard of key indicators

Impact: Health impacts

Description of impact

This report utilsies our work on GP consultation length as a performance indicator and serves as a proof of concept for a Health Systems Performance Assessment (HSPA) dashboard. It aims to provide policy-makers with a tool to identify and respond to performance issues in health systems. The HSPA dashboard will feature key indicators that reflect policy issues and priority areas, such as workforce, digital health, people-centredness, and outcomes of service delivery. The document highlights the importance of investing in data collection to make HSPA work for policy. It also emphasizes the need for careful collaboration across international organizations to align methodologies and support policy decision-making. The HSPA framework and the OECD renewed HSPA framework will be used to navigate health systems and populate them with policy-relevant indicators. The dashboard will help foster understanding and trust in the health system and support policy change.
