Walking together:weaving the tapestry of PGR community, research culture, and collective journey through the grass-roots collaborative Walk ‘n’ Talk initiative

Activity: DisseminationOral presentation

Description

Whilst starting a doctoral journey can be a transformative experience, it also presents challenges
that may impact the well-being of postgraduate researchers (PGRs). Feelings of isolation,
fragmentation and pressure to perform can permeate the experience, often in ways that are
invisible to the institution. In response, a group of PGRs at a post-1992 campus-based university
launched a grassroots “Walk and Talk” approach to support each other and celebrate individual
personal victories.
