Description
We intend to explore transformative hospitality service via the context of soup kitchens with key stakeholders by applying and informing Transformative Service Research (TSR) theory, and co-creative means and contributions across business, marketing, and the arts. We propose a theatre-in-the-round, pop-up art installation at which we host and engage with an invited community audience that are knowledgeable about soup kitchens and have experience of attending, participating, welcoming, hosting and receiving guests. This project will provide opportunity for stakeholders to highlight perceptions and experiences of “the soup kitchen”. The forum will explore qualitative information via different means (e.g. vox pop audio/video documentation, projections, poetry, photography, performance, hospitality wall, post-its, padlet) with a view to TSR and identifying common ground as to how issues raised might be addressed, from multidisciplinary academic and practitioner perspectives. Use of content analyses in different forms will be used to analyse findings. Creative resources will be used as an art installation for public spaces and places to highlight such novel, sometimes forgotten hospitality contexts of this age-old institution, “the soup kitchen”.Period | 8 Jun 2023 |
