Rationality and Its Limits: 19th Century Philosophy in Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit

Activity: DisseminationInvited talk

Description

This talk introduces Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit through its central question: how does human reason develop through experience, conflict, and contradiction? By exploring ideas such as dialectic, recognition, and the famous master–slave relationship, the presentation shows how Hegel challenges the view of reason as fixed or purely logical. The talk concludes by considering what Hegel can teach us about the limits of rationality in modern social and political life.
