Description

NatureMind is an annual conference hosted by the University of Central Lancashire and mental health charity Mind Over Mountains, and it seeks to support the growth and development of green social prescribing and nature-based approaches to wellbeing. I’m attaching the report from the 2024 conference to give you a sense of the depth and quality of last year’s discussion. We will be creating a report and film of the 2025 conference as well, to provide what we hope will be a helpful contribution to this critically important area of healthcare policy.

Our 2025 event will be titled: “Green Social Prescribing: Scaling What Works” and will take place at Towneley Hall, Burnley on June 12th. The conference will be an opportunity for providers and academics to showcase nature-based approaches that are delivering great outcomes – but it will also enable us to identify ways in which green social prescribing can be scaled up quickly to become a mainstream part of our healthcare provision across the UK. And with that in mind, the 2025 conference will particularly aim to explore the power of community in reaching groups that are typically underrepresented in nature and underserved by traditional healthcare systems. The conference provides an opportunity for all parts of the system to come together: community-based practitioners, providers, prescribers, academics, commissioners, policymakers and healthcare leaders – a powerful combination that we believe can help to deliver real change.
