Lyn Romeo shared my presentation slides with Sir Terence Stephenson, Consultant Paediatric Doctor and Council Chair of the General Medical Council, Professor Ruth Gilbert, UCL Institute of Child Health and Rachel Conner, Department of Health for them to contact me and link their research at the Children's Policy Research Unit to my research. Presenting how I had used augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to hear the perspectives of the children and young people in my study resulted in Lyn Romeo and Ruth Allen (BASW) wishing to include the use of AACs in the social work professional capabilities framework PCF’s.
