Description
This lecture explored fundamental questions in beach-dune evolution and the role of sandy coastlines as protective buffers against sea-level rise and increases in storminess. The latest IPCC projections suggest a 2.5 m upper-end sea-level rise scenario for management purposes by the end of the 21st century. Hence management decisions affecting our coastlines taken now will ultimately have an extraordinary impact on coastal vulnerability and adaptation over the next few decades
