Description

Assessment is an essential element in teaching and learning and is central to an understanding of how learning outcomes are achieved. It is through the assessment process and students’ efforts that we come to know them and plays a significant role in determining the students' success. This will mirror one of the many exercises I deliver to trainee teachers and students in order to help with one specific aspect of their assessment literacy. Students devise a system to judge which is the best from a number of supermarkets to elicit basic principles of assessment e.g. weighting, validity and reliability.
